GIL’S TRUCK TAKEN TO A NEW FRONTIER!
Name: Gil Green
Year: 2005
Make: Nissan
Model: Frontier
Hometown: Boise, ID
Tell us about your build, how have you modified it?
I had BTF build this when I was working in Iraq. It’s back halved (frame cut behind cab) with mezzanine arms. I went with mezzanine arms over the traditional link set up because I didn’t want to cut the cab to keep a good motion ratio (Shock movement:wheel movement) the other advantage to this set up is the weight of the arms are out side the frame behind the axle changing my center of gravity back further. I’m running a junk yard Ford 9 inch with 4:56 gears and Wilwoods brakes all the way around. King shocks front and back. Titan front diff with a BTF long travel kit up front. Jim Wolf Tech clutch and flywheel. It’s on Nitto Trail Grapplers with BTR wheels. I am sure there is some stuff I am missing.
Who makes the best hamburger? Astro Burger or Fat Burger..
What’s your favorite modification? The roll cage. It a mod I hope to never use but I am happy it is there.
Do you regret any of your mods? Nope..no regrets..
How many hours did you sleep last night? 6
Where is your favorite place to drive? Barstow, CA
If you could drive your vehicle anywhere in the world, where would that be?Would like to race Baja someday.
Why don’t kids like Lima Beans? Do Adults like them? I still don’t like them.
Do you enjoy your job? What would you do in life if money was not a constraint? My job is awesome, it has it’s down points but the good point out way them. If money wasn’t a constraint I would start a racing team.
If your significant other made you choose between her/him or your vehicle, which one would get the boot? I think I am facing that right now, and it is the vehicle only with the condition that I am building something new.
If you won a million dollars in a lottery, what would you do with it? Try and talk some one in to starting a reality show about this upstart off-road racing team I am putting together..
How awesome is NissanRaceShop.com and Fontana Nissan? Dude they are awesome. They don’t yell at me when I am greasy and homeless looking and stop to droll at the GTR on the way to the parts department like the dealer near my builder. Also Scott has helped me out a lot finding parts and getting good deals.
If you knew you had only 2 weeks to live and death was imminent what are the regrets you would have? Why haven’t you done anything about those regrets? How would you spend those two weeks?
No regrets. And I would spend my last to weeks on a private beach with a drink in my hand.
In the question above in regards to winning a million dollars, why didn’t you make any mention of spending it at NissanRaceShop.com? I’m not sure NissanRaceShop.com would want any part in my drunken reality show.
Have any “Shout Outs?” Brandon and Travis at BTF Fab http://www.btf-fab.com/ .. they are awesome and good guys to work with. I guess the companies that gave me free or cheap parts. Nitto, K&N, and Jim Wolf Technology. Greg athttp://www.prgproducts.com/ for helping me get my shocks working right.http://www.clubfrontier.orghttp://www.thenewx.org/ andhttp://dezertrangers.com/ even though they just banned me for post a picture of Long Cat… .but Long Cat is Loooong.

Thanks Gil for sharing with us…here’s a few more pictures for you all to enjoy…
